Digita is using digital infrastructure to build a Finnish society that offers the best opportunities in the world to live, be, try and excel today and tomorrow

Together, Croom and Digita created a telecoms telecommunications solution that protects communications equipment and ensures network performance.

'I have always been happy with what Croom has done. The conversation is uncomplicated and they are service-minded''

- Jani Pyykkö, Solution Manager, Digita Oy

The standard mast site was not suitable for the equipment spacesolution

Digita needed a mast site in Pirkanmaa that would protect communications equipment, fittings and the backup power system. A traditional, pre-designed equipment room was not suitable for the site, but a customised solution was required, including the shape of the roof and the position of the door. The site's environment imposed requirements for permitting and landscaping of the equipment room to ensure that it blended seamlessly into the surroundings. In addition, the timeframe for the delivery of the facility was relatively tight. The collaboration started with Digita sending the initial data to Croom.

''The project started from the need to create a customized equipment room for the site. The industrial site, the industrial environment and the adjacent warehouse building created certain technical needs for the permitting, such as how the equipment room would be landscaped into the property'' - Jani Pyykkö, Solution Manager, Digita Oy

A customised solution designed together

Based on the initial data, we drew up preliminary plans, defining the structures, dimensions, equipment and their placement. The 3D model was shared with Digita, and together we modified it during a couple of rounds of comments until it met all the needs.

In this project, Croom was responsible for:

  • Designing the structure together with Digita to meet your needs
  • Construction, electrification and equipping of the equipment room, including, among other things, the DC installation
  • Planning the location of the equipment room with the civil engineer and delivery of the equipment room to the site on a mutually agreed foundation solution.

The modular rack space combines a sophisticated solution with energy efficiency while protecting your equipment - whatever the weather.

A well-finished and fully equipped equipment room supports reliability and enables smooth operation of the system.

Summary

Overall, the project was an unexpected and reliable delivery with no challenges. Although the solution was customized, the equipment and structure was a familiar entity to Croom. Communication with Digita was easy as the needs, equipment and project details were carefully discussed and communication was clear.

''The team gave good feedback on the site, it fits in perfectly with the environment. You would think it was part of the overall milieu.'' - Jani Pyykkö, Solution Manager, Digita Oy
